WinDVD 2000 2.3: Does it support 5.1 to 4 channel downmix?

I see in the feature list that WinDVD 2000 2.3M supports 4 channel playback. Does this use a 5.1 downmix filter?

I want to get BA-4800s and hook them up to the 4 channel output of my SBLive!, I figure with the front channels less than 2 feet apart I'm not in desparate need of a Center channel, so will this 4 channel mode downmix the center channel for me, and send the bass information through the 4 channels for the crossover in the BA-4800s? (as opposed to I don't know just ignoring the center channel or something stupid like that)
