WindowXP, any way to rename files universally?

Would like to rename a collection for photo. mainly removing the default word from my camera. seem painful to do it one by one.

Yes, through the command prompt. I suggest making a subdirectory copy, playing around with ren there until you get it close to what you want (if you can), and then doing it for real.

There is also mass/batch rename software available. Some of it free I think that makes things a little easier than the command prompt (IMO). I can't look any up at work, but if you hit Google I'm sure you can find a few.

does'nt show up the menu, select a number of files , right click.
