I've been having difficulty getting the XP update portal to load. I was unable to access it since last Thursday and just this am managed to get it to scan my PC. It found all the updates etc and after installing the critical ones first (sucessfully) it wouldn't re-scan after rebooting. I know a few others users here in Ontario cannot get the site to run the system scan either. It just hangs at 0%. Any idea's? Note: this is a legit purchased copy.

In IE go to Tools>internet options>Connections>Lan Settings>Uncheck Automaticaly detect settings.

shut down & restart IE after that you should be able to update.

It's not your computer that's the problem, It's the Rogers proxy server.

by turning it off you bypass it & connect directly to microsoft for your updates.

freakin Rogers is getting worse all the time.:(

:disgust: Ain't that the truth. When I spoke to them last night they had nothing to offer other than the fact that it must be MS as all other sites were working. Hey....thanks again.

Rogers hasn't been too bad as of late.

As for MS...their site is always acting strange.
