I just got a new computer added to my network so I, making one of the biggest blunders of my life, allowed windows to setup its Small Network. Within 5 minutes, my computer running windows XP was no longer able to access LAN. No LAN=no router access=death...Furthermore, I can't find a way to reverse the damage this Small Network Install did because it even screwed up LAN on Windows2000 (i have a dual boot rig with each OS getting its own hard drive...)
I know my network is fine since I can type this desperate plea for help from my computer upstairs connected to the very same router. The green light on my router claims that both computers are connected to the network and Windows XP detects the network connection being lost/gained when i plug/unplug the network cord...I have no idea what it did but somehow windows is blocking itself from the network and then claiming it doesn't exist (what a bastardly thing to do).
I'm really stumped here guys. I'd really hate to have to do complete OS re-installs because of something so minor and I have no doubt that there is some really easy way to fix this...I, however, can't figure it out
