WindowsXP booting issue.

My XP installation gets through the windows Logo thing and then gets to the part where normally it shows the logon page but instead it appears to have frozen though I'm able to move the mouse and I'm not sure how I can fix this. I have an XP pro disc and it's XP home so a repair install won't really work.
