Windowsupdate for IIS updates/patches?

This is kind of a noob question....

I've been using windowsupdate to keep several XP boxes up to date with patches and the like. A couple of the boxes are running IIS for some basic web serving stuff (nothing out on the 'net). While I've kept up with the updates through windowsupdate.microsoft.com, are the updates and patches for IIS to be downloaded somewhere else separately and installed?? If so, where?

Thanks!

Yup that's correct; IIS is considered a Windows component so they have included patches for it on the Windows Update site.

Thanks for the replies. A followup then -- would the patches for IIS show up on the lists of critical updates or recommended updates etc, or do I have to dig through the catalogue to find every patch related to IIS?

All the IIS patches I can remember have all shown up under critical updates; and certainly all the security related ones.

Thanks! I was just a little worried that I was missing a bunch of updates for IIS, which might come back to haunt me later. :)

You may want to download the MBSA and run that against the machines if you are worried they might be missing patches. IIS patches are part of windowsupdate but it doesn't hurt to run MBSA against those machines just incase.
