Maybe WindowsME is suppose to do this, but i'm not sure.. I only have been running it for about 5 days. Everytime I start windowsME it will write this to the autoexec.bat file:
SET windir=C:\WINDOWS
SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
SET COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
SET PROMPT=$p$g
SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
I have tried deleting the autoexec.bat file, when I start windowsME, the file comes back with those settings in it. Also, everything was running fine when I first got the computer, but now, when I start WindowsME it comes to the screen with the icons and everything and then it will stay there for about 1 minute or so, I can move the mouse but I can't click on anything, then after 1 minute or so passes, it does whatever I clicked on... it's like it is lagged by a minute or so.. kinda weird.. it just started happening though.. i'm thinking that it might be writing the autoexec.bat file and thats why it is lagged when it starts?
