With WindowsMe, I've been getting random system lock-ups, blue screen errors, explorer crashes etc... I noticed that if I turn on AGP fast read writes I get blue screen errors for any type of video related task so I turned that off a while ago (I want the performance of it turned on but it just doesn't work in WindowsMe I suppose). At athlonmb.com they say that it happens on the Asus A7V but the same errors they described are occuring on my thunderbird with an MSI K7T. They also said that if you turn off all of the performance enhancing settings in bios, windows will run stable (of course it'll be slower though :() but that isn't the case with my K7T Pro. If I turn off AGP fast read writes, I won't get blue screen errors for everything (and I mean everything)I do but it seems like turning off any of the other performance enhancing settings do not help.
I guess I'm not really asking for a reply but more putting out a warning to people who have thunderbirds. In other words, Don't use WindowsME with a thunderbird. I really like windowsMe but if you have to sacrifice performance just to get it to run a little bit, it's not worth it.:( I guess I gotta revert back to using slow startup 98 again.
