I bought a computer a few weeks ago from a friend of mine. The specs are:
AMD Athlon 700
Fic Slot A SD11 Motherboard
Ram: 128 PC133
Video: 3dForce B-32 Plus (32 meg video ram)
Cd-Rom; 50x

However my problem is, I cannot install win98 or win2000. I get all these errors, the computer did install win95 but I did something in the bios and now the comp wont install win95/98/2000. It says my secondary hard drive is the cd-rom drive in the screen after it says Hit del to enter bios, the screen with the table of pc info?
Do you know why it is doing this?

I have bios version 1.17

And when installing windows 2000 I get these errors (every time i try to format, reinstall i get one of these errors):
"PFN_LIST_CORRUPT"
or
"CORRUPT_EXECUTIVE_MEMORY_SPOOL"
or
"IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
or
when copying the system files (after i reformat with NTFS or FAT32) it stops aftr driver.cab or it says it cant copy a certain file and I can choose to skip it. I skipped some files but then its like every file is being skipped.

I think he added some memory to it (128) and then all these errors occured, thats why he sold it to me for $900 to buy another one, but why does it do this??? He also said that when he bought it worked fine, he change sound cards<soundblaster live> and added 128 more ram Pc133 and then had problems installing OS's. I have tonight, took out the modem, and soudncard. So all there is , is the motherboard, cpu, cd, and video card. ANd still have errors when trying to install win 2000. is it a memory problem? driver problem? I had win95 installed and tried to put win2000 over but never worked and now I'm, stuck.

Please help me, its a big pain

Thank you,

Anthony

It is possible that it may be a memory problem, enable the RAM count on boot up within your BIOS and reboot several times for the check to complete the count. Did he add the RAM right before he sold it? or had he been using it with the RAM he added on?
