Does anybody know how to write a C program that when run will add itself as a service and run in the background everytime the computer is started? I am more experienced with a Unix environment when it comes to programming.

It's not as easy as it is under Unix. You have to write a Win32 Service:

There is a util called srvany which makes any program a service. I don't know where to find it thought. I also heard you can make any program a service under Win2k with the default admin tools. Don't ask me how, I never tried it.
