Ok i tryed TWO hardrives TWO!!! Not to long ago muh pc just slowed to a crawl! So i had a virus but than i got rid of it i dont guess that causes a problem and also some reason my drive turned to PIO auto and it was on DMA wtf. Ok well i try to format my 2k which is so so slow to my old windows xp! When i get into xp i let it go and go and i picked QUICK FORMAT NTFS and it starts and stops @ 20%! I have tryed other format options on there also and 3 times it said my hdd is damage. I have a old 2gb also i tryed it stoped @ 20% also. To make sure my xp cd wasnt dead i tryed another copy and same thing!!! Im stuck so right now im using Windows server 2003 evalution copy non crack. Oh ya windows 2000 pro. formats and install perfectly.

Point # 1 - The way that you are talking is that this system ran without any problems for some unspecified time? Is this true? If so then did you flash the BIOS? Have you flashed back.

Point #2 - is this all on the primary IDE controller? Or on an add in card/Promise/HighPoint Controller? If so have you tried to move the drive back to the Primary IDE? Do you have more then 1 CD-Rom in the system? Have you removed or disconnected the second CD-rom?

Point #3 - What do you have in the system? Kinda hard to troubleshoot if you don't give a goo description of the HW.

Wow...... It it its...... Actually readable and....... neat......
Hmmm, You cut and pasted this didn't you.

On an unrelated note: have you tried googling the motherboard that you have to check and see if there are any problems with its windows xp compatibility.

BTW, you may be ready for spyordie but I doubt he's ready for you 🙂

OK you answered Point #3 what about 1 and 2. From the list I see that you have a CD and CDRW. have you tried disconnecting the CDrw and setting the CDrom to master on the secondary. I had an Abit mobo that would not install with 2 cdroms on it. The W2K cd would get confused. Did you flash the bios from what was on it following initial install?

Have you tried with only the CDROM attached?

You really don't deal well with multiple questions do you???
