Windows Xp x64 installation issues with my A8N Sli Premium

Hey guys.

I'm having a problem with my A8N SLI premium installing windows xp x64. IT locks up at the "Starting up windows" when I boot off windows CD to install on my fresh hard drive.

I ran memtest and got 1900 + errors but this did not happen on my Old sli32 a8n.


I was wondering what the issue is here?>

Hi ownsauce,

Not sure if you've resolved your problem, but anyway...

Are you sure your RAM modules did not fail in the meantime? Perhaps try some other modules?

Secondly, your BIOS may not be picking up the RAM IDs correctly, and the motherboard could be assigning the wrong values for the modules. Perhaps try setting the values manually rather than using AUTO? Also try increasing the voltage and see if that helps.
