Alright - another goof up done by a former employee...

Enterprise based POS program - being hosted on a Windows XP machine...

Getting permission errors when attempting to run applications - Simple File Sharing was turned on.... turned that off (non domain btw - all workgroup) just as testing purposes created a test account under the admin group - had the user from the other workstation log in as the test user - success - can launch the program - program uses internet explorer for reporting - getting javascript run time errors - saying access is denied to specific fields on the "server"

I'm use to working on normal servers - when I go into security - where I can propegate permissions onto child objects - by merely going into the security settings pane - and doing that. However on traditional windows XP I fail to see that option - any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming that the machine is Windows XP Professional turning off Simple File Sharing should have made the permissions appear. When you look at the system processes do you see which user the POS program is running under?

You could always use cacls (or is it xcacls) to set the permissions from the command line.
