Windows XP won't past Boot screen...

I really don't know what's going on, never had this problem before. Didn't change anything since the previous boot... Everything seems to go as normal, after the boot screen is finished hard drive and computer activity complete stop. I haven't done anything with the drivers or installed any type of new software, so I really can't explain wth could be going on, help please?

Tested Safe Mode, works perfectly fine, checked the event log, didn't see anything wrong... I really do not know where else to go with this and I'd really rather not do a format...

If safe mode works, and normal mode doesn't, use MSCONFIG and disable _everything_ but MS Services. Reboot. Can you boot? If so, two by two or four by four, enable more services and processes until you find the four that cause the machine to no longer boot. Then boot in safe mode, disable 3 of those 4 - can you then boot? Etc... continue until you find the culprit.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will remember that for next time, couldn't take it anymore and just did a format lol

These types of problems are usually caused by bad drivers, but seeing as you hadn't changed anything...

Seeing as you reformatted, I guess the problem is fixed. It's worth it just to be problem free for a few weeks...
