Hi, I'm really having a big problem. When I start-up my computer everything looks normal (the windows xp logo shows and all), but when Windows XP starts I can hear everything as it is loading and I can tell that everything is going right, it's just that my screen turns black! I can't see anything and can't figure-out what on earth is going on. Thanks anybody for your help!

Can you click on your username before it goes black? If so, do this:
When booting, choose Safe Mode w/Command Prompt. Log in and the once you're at a command prompt go to
c:\windows\system32\restore folder and type in rstrui.exe

This will open your system restore screen. Restore your PC to a time when it worked ok.

Also, have you tried Last Known Good Configuration? (on the safe mode menu screen)

No I can't click on my user name before it goes black...

I was talking to a friend and we figured out that maybe it is messed up because I installed a bunch of BIOS things from a website when I was trying to get a "driver" so that I could get my wirleless modem and volume control on my keyboard to work (somebody told me I needed bios software?) Any ideas? Please help!

Oh and DennyD-it stalls in the command promp thing and won't keep listing the things down the screen so I can't type anything in! Also, safe mode won't load either...I think I may go crazy.
