I've been trying to install Windows XP on a machine here, but I just can't! It keeps resetting during the installation process. Like it'll get finished with copying the files, but then when it resets and you see the black screen with the Windows XP logo and the blue bar going back and forth below it, it will reset. I tried installing Windows XP on another system and then transferring the hard drives, but then it would keep resetting when it gets into Windows XP after like 30 seconds. Any ideas? integrated mobo (lan,video,sound.. no pci slots), 256mb ram, 900 mhz celeron. The mobo is one that you've most probably never heard of. I'm guessing that it's probably something wrong with the mobo and Windows XP, unless this is some common problem that could be fixed.

not sure I fully understand but are you sure xp isn't trying to reinstall itself on reboot because you've still got the xp cd in the drive & you've set for your cd drive first in the boot order in bios??

I don't think that would be the problem. Even if I install it on another computer and switch the hard drives, it keeps resetting (no CD in the cd-rom).
