Okay, so I'm at the part where the installer asks you which partition to install Windows XP on. I have 3 drives. 1 is an 80GB IDE, and 2 are 80GB SATA drives in RAID 0. I'm using the Southbridge RAID controller on my MSI Neo4 Platinum nForce4 Ultra board. I can make/delete partitions on the RAID, but when I try to install onto one of the partitions, it says that the partition type is wrong. I tried loading up PartitionMagic and formatting the partition with NTFS, but it still wouldn't work. Then I tried installing it on my IDE drive, and everything worked perfectly? What's the problem here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's easiest to start at the beginning. I apologize ahead of time if you know, or have already done these things.

Enable SATA RAID in Raid Config of Integrated Peripherals of your BIOS. Save using F10.

After reboot immediately enter the RAID BIOS by pressing F10. Page 5-3 of your manual explains the array setup better and easier than I can.

You will have to press F6 near the beginning of the Windows install and insert the floppy with the RAID drivers when prompted.

You can partition your array during the Windows install if you'd like. Any remaining space on the array can be partitioned from within Windows afterwards.

Most important - disconnect the IDE drive for now. XP has a tendency to get confused and install itself on an available IDE drive under these circumstances.

MSI has probably the best RAID setup documentation I have seen.

Edit for spelling - as usual.
