Windows XP wont install on Epox 8rda+ *HELP*

Hello everyone, i just put together my first system and i have a pretty big question. Alright, when i go to install Windows XP i start up the computer with the XP cd in my cd-rom drive...and it gets to the part where it boots from the cd. Now i choose to partition and format my WD se 80gb hard-drive in NTFS format and after its done with that it installs the proper windows files to my hdd. And then it goes to that screen that says it'll reboot the computer in 15 seconds to finish setup. Well when my computer restarts it just goes straight back to the Blue Windows XP start-up screen and wont boot from my hdd so i can actually start installing Windows XP. The only things i have changed in the BIOS are my FSB to 133 and the order of my boot devices are floppy, hdd, cd-rom. Now i figured it would try and boot from my hdd first and still nothing. I have my hdd on primary IDE channel set at master, and my cd-rom is on the second IDE channel as master, any ideas on why it wont get past booting from the cd after i install the windows files for setup? My system rig is as follows:

Epox 8rda+ Rev. 1.1
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
512mb Kingston HyperX 2700
80gb WD SE
52x24x52x Lite-On CDRW
Asus Geforce4 ti4200
Antec SLK3700AMB 350watt Case

The only thing I can suggest is to change the FSB back to what it was originally and change the order of booting to floppy, cdrom. You shouldn't have to include hdd as a boot up option as it will do it automatically anyway. With those boot options, when the computer restarts it will ask you to push any button to boot from cdrom, just leave it alone and it will start installing windows xp.
At least that's the way I've done it numerous times.

it's possible your hdd is to blame. search here for the codes on your blue screen, it'll tell you what the problem is. Had the same thing happen to me once with the exact same hdd. would install win98SE but didn't quite work right with it either, never would go any farther than loading the files for XP Pro.

edit: rma'd my drive and I love it btw, fastest ide drive I ever owned.

Also, as a handy shortcut, press the ESC key when you see the POST screen, and the computer will complete its POST and then offer you a list of boot devices so you can pick the one you want that time around. Good luck with your new rig, looks nice 😀 and welcome to the Forums! 🙂
