Windows XP won't hibernate automatically

I can manually hibernate my PC by holding down Shift and clicking Hibernate from the Shut Down screen and the PC resumes succesfully each time also. However, I have set the Power options to hibernate after 2 hours, but the computer stays on day after day, night after night without ever hibernating.

I have msn messenger and norton av 2002 and MS Works calendar reminder as the only background programs running after a clean install of XP Home Edition. Indexing service is disabled and I only use Blank Screen as a screen saver. Any ideas as to why it won't automatically hibernate? FYI, mobo is MSI K7T Turbo, bios ver 3.1, ACPI is enabled in the Bios and PM controlled by APM is disabled (though I tried it both ways). Hibernation is enabled in the Power Options also. (more system details available by looking at the link in my sig.)

Thanks in advance.
