Okay i've got 256mb of ram running windows xp. I've been getting alot of "low on virtual memory" warnings lately. All i really run is mirc, aim, IE, norton systemworks, and my firewall program. I remember when Windows XP first came out people came up with routines to remove the unneeded background processes for Windows XP that saves a ton of ram. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If you're getting low on virtual memory, ensure you have a large enough pagefile.

System control panel, Performance tab.
