Windows XP system file integrity?

I remember someone showing me a program in windows Xp that checks your DLL and/or system file integrity, the versions, etc and makes sure the are all ok. I think I have a problem because explorer keeps crashing when I'm sifting through document folders when I select cut and paste.

Does anyone know what program it is? I think it restores them as well but I dont know what it is I'm looking for.

checks for dll files??? mmm...not sure which u talking about, i do know scandisk can check for file integrity, chkdsk as well. Windows crashing can be alot of factors, for eg. memory, programs/drivers conflicting each other, windows itself (in this case not updated),....etc.Do provide more info for eg, error msg, how it happened, and wat apps u running...

That's ok I found it on my own, it's SFC.EXE ... run it with the /scannow option here's the link for those of you who are interested. Text
