well, it happened yesterday for the first time... it popped out of no where.. today it happened again.. both time were when i was on IRC. A new server and channel i have never been to... basically what im asking is... is there a way to fix it? and what possibly caused it?.. maybe scripts?? anyways here is some more info on what happened

Faulting application svchost.exe, version 5.1.2600.0, faulting module RPCRT4.dll, version 5.1.2600.0, fault address 0x0000aa9c.
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 800706BF from line 44 of d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

That was in my event viewer list

also when the error occured it gave me a minute to reboot xp or it would do it auto matically. something about Generic Host Process for Win32 Services

If anyone has ever had this crash before please let me know because this is the first couple of times its done it to me and 2 days in a row.. im not sure if i should be worried or if its one of those crashes that just happen sometimes.

Looks like XP has an RPC issue with UNIX servers. There is a buffer overrun if you have been idle for 40 - 60 secs. You might try downloading Rpcrt4.dll Version 5.1.2600.1142. Although it doesn't specifically mention IRC, it seems to fit your problem. .Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 811576

To keep the computer from rebooting, go to the control panel and double click on system. Choose the advances tab and then where it says "Startup and Recovery", click on settings. Uncheck the box for automatically restart under system failure
