Windows Xp slow boot and missing ide drives

Question
I have installed windows xp pro with sp2. I have one sata drive and two ide drives , bios show all 3 drive but windows only shows the sata drive ( it showed all 3 at first but since the first reboot they are gone , ive check all connections ?) not the ide drives.
Also windows takes a long time to boot 5 min.'s .

Any ideal would be great .
 
what bios are you using? If it is anything other than 1002 you may have issues with a Maxtor Diamondmax hard drive... or other drives. Try to clear the CMOS jumper and see if that works.
