Windows XP Shutdown problems

I have windows updated everything except SP2. I have scanned for Viruses, and Spyware with latest definitions. The computer is brand new, installed XP a day ago. My problem is when I go to shutdown this window pops up. Saying "Ending program - Sample" so if i end task my PC shutsdown, which is good, but I shouldn't have to do that. It will be really annoying when I take this laptop to class and can't just tell it to shutdown and put it in my bag. If i let the bar complete and let windows try to shut it down it tells me the program is not responding, and asks to cancel or end now. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

-Thanks

Nope.

I found the problem though. It was an intel based program for my wireless. Changed the name of it so it can't run so now XP shuts down fine and it had no effect on my wireless ... go figure. Oh well, thanks anyways everyone :)

I am having the same problem on windows 2000, can you describe the solution that you found in more detail? I have been unable to locate a process or executable named sample.

Thanks,

David
