Windows XP Setup with third-party SATA controller

Hi all,

I'm trying to set up this new drive I just bought on a SATA controller that I bought along with it. The problem I've run into is that I don't have a floppy drive to install the mass storage drivers for Windows XP setup. I mean, let's face it, floppies are useless except in cases like these, and up until now, that wasn't justification for me to install a floppy drive.

So my question is: is it possible to use a USB thumbdrive to install the drivers at the F6 prompt? I really don't wanna go out and buy a $12 floppy drive just to install drivers when I install Windows.

If not that, I figure the next most feasible solution is to make a new Windows installation CD with the drivers already present, but I'm lazy and don't wanna have to google that.

I'm pretty sure you're going to need a floppy drive. Personally, I don't see why people think floppies are so usesless. They come in handy every once in a while, when you just need to copy that one word document. Both of my thumbdrives have given me problems in the past (Lexar Jumpdrive Travelers) and having a floppy lying around has always saved me.

You could slipstream (I think) the drivers into the Windows installation.
Just do a search on Googly for this - its also worth slipping in some patches and drivers as well if you have the time.
