Windows XP Setup Help

Hello,

I have a K8NF4G-SATA2 board with a 250GB SATA drive partitioned to 32GB/200GB NTFS.

I booted from cd to start the windowsxp sp2 setup but it always
freezes right b4 the blue screen and after the "setup is inspecting your hardware configuration" line.

I've tried different XP cd's and its the same problem.
Also setup works fine when i set an ide disk as the 1st hard disk in bios, and has no problem detecting the sata disk from here.
But i need it to boot from the SATA drive. Please help!
Thanks in advance

First, as dhaddox suggested, make sure your SATA drive is the first hard drive in your boot order, after your floppy driver (if you have one) and your CD/DVD drive.

If you still can't install XP directly to your SATA drive, but your machine recognizes the SATA drives once it's installed on an IDE drive, try using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image to clone your working setup to the SATA drive.
