I recently had some problems with my computer and I planned on reformatting my hard-drive... the problem included random short freezes and I thought it had something to do with my RAM... I called Crucial and I switched out my two sticks of 256MB for two new sticks... got them in a few days ago, formatted my computer, and tried to install. During the installation it went to a blue screen (darker then windows blue screen) with the following error message:
<<
Sub-component COM+ raised an exeption while processing the OC_COMPLETE_INSTALLATION setup message.
d:\nt\com\com1x\src\comp\ussetup\comsetup\csetuputil.cpp (line 3406)
Error Code = 0x800703e7
Error performing inpage operation.
Failed to load the library 'C:\WINDOWS\System32\clbcatq.dll'
>>
It happened during the Installing Devices portion of the setup, thinking it was just temporary, I rebooted the computer, and tried the installation again. This time it went through the 'Copying files for installation' but after it rebooted it came with the following error:
<<

It was about now this really started to piss me off... i talked to a few friends and one said it could be my motherboard... went to the local shop an picked up the same motherboard (EPoX 8K7A), and tried the installation again to no luck, I still got the same error (maybe a little bit different).
There is ONE thing I can think of that I might have done, and yes it was stupid but I was testing it... i had to hard-wire some PanaFlo fans so I cut a connector of the power supply (Did this before, and it worked, but wanted to make it a bit cleaner inside the case) so a little bit of the cable was showing... I was using this new solder where you actually burn it with a lighter after you put some on, and it melts... the wires got really hot (duh) and maybe this damaged something that is messing the power going to the motherboard? I recently changed my hard drive out for a 30gig Western Digital, so I don't think it would be this unless it was faulty. I have tried various installation cd's so it's not faulty data like the Microsoft site brings up for inpage operation error.
Any suggestions on how I can fix, or test to figure the problem of my setup? Computer specs follow below...
