I recently built a new computer with the following specs last week, it has not been overclocked.
ASUS P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel P965-X
Intel (BX805573060) Xeon 3060 Dual-Core 2.4Ghz 4M
eVGA e-Geforce 7600 GT KO PCI express 256MB GDDR3 Video
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 ATX12V 650W Power Supply
I am running XP with SP2. I ran into a problem that happened a few times where I noticed that if I move my mouse around (ie: left and right), there are times where the cursor would skip and not move smoothly. Basically, the computer becomes laggy, and can be remedied with a reboot. When I closed all programs, there is nothing that is using CPU usage under the task manager, and RAM usage is about 500 mb.
This did not happen before when I was running a P4 system. So my guess is I need to format (might be a bad install), not enough power going through (which I doubt), or not enough cooling on the CPU (using the retail heatsink/fan). Does anybody know what might be causing this?
Thanks
