Hi.
I just ordered my computer from Newegg. It will be here on Tuesday.
I'm already preparing to install Windows XP on the computer, and I know that generally an extra step has to be taken during the installation process in order for XP to recognize SATA drives. I've read that you have to hit F6 at the beginning of the install when it asks if you want to install third party drivers, and then select the drivers from a floppy drive (that come with your motherboard, or your hard drives).
Here's my dilema:
I didn't buy a floppy drive with the computer. I don't really care for one, to be honest. Floppy drives are antiquated, old, annoying, and they simply take up space in my case. So I'd rather not have to buy one and install it in order to get Windows XP to recognize my SATA drives.
Is there any way to get around this little detail of having to have a floppy drive with a driver floppy? Maybe putting the drivers on a CD or something?
Thanks!
