Windows XP running from disc?

I have a vista laptop and my lcdtv doesn't support vista.

Is there a way to run windows xp from the disc instead of installing it ?
 
winpe is a stripped down version of xp/vista you can run from CD or Flash drive. Doesn't come with an explorer shell or IE but it's possible to get the running on it. I don't think it would do what you want.
