Windows XP refuses to shutdown properly with my new Abit KX7-333R

I had to replace my MSI K7 Master, and I opted for an Abit KX7-333R. However, now windows just hangs at the shutdown screen. The drives powerdown, and the fans spin a bit slower, but everything remains "On." Restarts are fine, its just the shutdowns that aren't working correctly.

I believe it has to do something with ACPI since I had an error message about it while installing XP. I tried to find a way to turn it off in BIOS, but there was no such option. It just had the 2 different modes for ACPI.

It's almost certain to be an ACPI error. Make sure that it's enabled in the bios and try updating all your chipset drivers. You should be using ACPI on pretty much any PC less than three years old.

I have no idea why ACPI is not properly implemented right out of the box. Its not like this mobo is from the stone ages.
