For the past two day's i've had problems with Windows Detecting my Sound Card. When I boot my computer my BIOS gives me a message confirming that it detected my Sound Card. But when I'm in Windows, despite the fact that I have the drivers installed/reinstallled it claims I have no audio hardware installed. So I tryed 3 things.

1. Switched my Creative Sound Blaster Live! to my Creative Audigy 2.
2. Unistalled SB Live's drivers, rebooted, installed Audigy 2's drivers, rebooted, Still Nothing
2. So I assumed it may be my hardware slots even though it's a new motherboard! So I once again rebooted, went into my BIOS configuration and enabled my onboard sound, still nothing!

Im currently running Windows XP SP1. If you have any recommendations or question please reply...

What motherboard is it? Do you see anything in Device Manager with yellow exclamation points or red x's through it?

Do they show up in Device Manager at all? When the machine POSTs it should list all your PNP hardware. Do you see them in the list?

It shows a listing which is:

-Sound, video and game controls:
-Audio Codecs
-Creative Game Port
-Legacy Audio Drivers
-Legacy Video Capture Devices
-Media Control Devices
-NVIDIA(R) nForce2(TM) Audio Codec Interface (Onboard Sound)

I looked in the 'Other Device' Branch and it does have an exclamation point next to it... for my NVIDIA(R) nForce2(TM) Audio Device (Onboard Sound)

What is PNP hardware?
