Well after 6 days of playing with RC1 I found the root of all my problems, thats right my sound blaster live gave me lots of trouble and I replaced it with a turtle beach santa cruz (very good sound card by the way) now my system is rock stable and running well.......

I must say that I am very impressed with this operating system, very stable, good netwok support, good MP3 support,And all apps work well...........Keep up the good work Micro$oft..............

What were the problems you had with your SB Live?

I am curious because I have a pre-5.1 SB Live! X-Gamer and had no problem getting it working with XP (though this seems to be a recurring problem on the NGs). I let XP install its own drivers (I never used all the Creative software), set it up for 4 speakers, and all is well.

The combination that is usually problematic is SBlive and a VIA AMD Athlon system. If you are running Intel far lower chance of having a problem with SBlive.

Don_Vito,

I did the exact same as you. I left Microsoft's driver for my SBLive ! and have not had one problem with Windows XP. This OS rocks !!

I'm getting alot of static noise with my Santa Cruz Dell OEM. What drivers are you using for your SC dogbite? Did you just let Windows XP install its own drivers for it?

Turtle Beach released new drivers for XP a few days ago, I'd get those.

If only Hercules could do the same... The GTXP doesn't work with more than 256MB of ram in XP.

Boo on Herc.. they should take advantage NOW of Creative's sucking and put out good drivers.

I'm very impressed that Voyetra looked after the SC people running XP.

THe only time so far in XP that I've had any sort of static with mp3s probably is my fault, since I was playing anarchy online while listening to mp3's and I would only get static barely when I was scrolling web pages.
