Windows XP question

I'm running 98se and so was my sister until her boyfriend lent her his XP pro disk. This disk was apparently made by the boyfriend's father and is on 2 of their computers. I know that XP has some sort of online registration or something like that. Is there any danger of putting it on my sister's pc? (can they track you etc.?) I'm keeping 98se on my computer just to be safe. Thanks for the help guys.

Hmm...

I've heard from some people at school that somewhere out there in cyberspace, available for download, was a copy of XP Pro Corporate, which ran off the old school product key like Windows 98 did... Maybe it was just hacked, but who knows.

I don't know if its still there though, or if it is trackable by Microsoft, but from what else I heard, people seem to be using it ok. It seems to update, etc, just fine.

Anybody else know?

I'm getting free XP Pro on Monday, so I didn't bother worrying much about the possible pirate they knew of.
