Windows XP Prompts user for a password...

Good morning all,

I have a Windows XP Machine at home that has 2 accounts and no password.

The system has worked fine for over 6 months, but in the past month it's been randomly asking for a password on the user accounts. Most of the time you can get in without entering a password, just leaving the field blank, but several times it just won't let me in to the desktop. If I force the machine to power down, and restart, the system comes up and goes in to the desktop with no problem and doesn't ask for a password.

What's up with that?

Try start -> run -> control userpasswords2 and make sure "users must enter a username and password" is still unchecked.
