Windows XP/Promise Ultra100/Maxtor 60 gig Problems

I just installed Windows XP Pro and it went find except that it doesn't mount my I: drive, which is a 60 gig ATA/100 maxtor. I have it connected to the Promise Ultra100 Tx2. Are there any reasons why it should do this? The drive is in NTFS and was run under Windows 2k SP2 (but the OS wasn't on it), it is extremely full though. I think there are only twenty megs left or something ( a new drive is in the mail)
Thanks for any help,
~Ben

You mean your system doesn't detect the drive from the boot and you can hear beeps?
Mine does it from time to time.
It usually detects back if I turn the system off before log on again.
Mine is on onboard Promise controller, though.
