Windows XP Professional

You can not with the retail version. You can only install it on more than one machine if you have more licenses. Licenses are those stickers with the key number on it.

I guess I've always had Corp. versions then cuz I've done it lots of times. Of course these installs were for "research purposes" only and I uninstalled immediately afterwards because, as a poster or 2 has already mentioned, it's strictly forbidden in the ULA. Of course.

What would happen if you uninstalled it from one machine and then put it on another? It would be fine yes?

Only if it is a retail copy, or an upgrade off a retail copy.

You didn't know what version you had? Sounds like you've been naughty.

And yeah, corp doesn't require activation.
