Windows XP Professional Licensing Question

MDE

Lifer
I've heard that you can install and activate a copy of XP Pro on a workstation (desktop) and a portable system (laptop) as long as the only user of the portable is the main user of the desktop. Looking at the XP EULA I can't see that anywhere. Can anyone explain?

Nope. Not on Windows XP (or any other version of Windows IIRC). You CAN do this with office however.

You can activate a retail copy of XP Pro on something like 5 new machines every year. But just because it works doesn't mean it's being used legally. If you have two computers, the EULA requires you have two fully paid copies of XP.
