To make it so you can boot off windows XP you need to make it a bootable disk right?

well my current XP is very scratched and i wanted to burn it, no lie its pro anyways so you dont need to activate.

anyways i go to burn it as bootable and it says i need to insert a floppy. Is there anyway to bypass this? Also I cant locate the boot.ini file. Can anyone help?

its pro anyways so you dont need to activate.
WinXP Pro does require activation, unless it's Corporate or SLP-locked OEM. If you have either of those that came pre-installed, then contact your PC manufacturer for a new CD.

Given that you admitted to "burned" WinXP Home a week ago, I suggest you knuckle under and buy a new license and CD. Your time (and ours) is worth too much to be going through this wild goose chase 🙂

I have a XP Pro install disk. Mine automatically boots from the CD, so it must be a corp version or akin to that.

You just have to set the bios to boot from CD if you have this version.

Well I did lie, it is pirated and i was talking about XP home good memory Mech... Anyways, so corporate is what I have? and that doesnt have a boot.ini. that sucks.
