In win Xp, when i try to open a picture (double click any picture thumbnail)in the 'picture and fax viewer' i get the following error message-

windows cannot find c:/documents and settings/user/desktop/fliename.jpg Make sure you typed in the name correctly and try again blah bleh blah bleh blah blah bleh blah

this started happening a couple days ago for no reason that i can think of. i havent added any software, deleted anything, no new hardware etc...

i have absolutely no idea why this started happening

thanks in advance

I know it doesn't seem important, but please do a word for word of the error message(s) you are getting.

Edit: Try this.

Click Start.

Click Run.

In the Run box, type (without quotes) "REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL" (does not have to be in caps. Make sure there is a space between regsvr32 and shimgvw.dll)

that command is for enable picture and doc viewer of explorer. I guess you probably install an application that disabled or over wrote the dll. That command re-enable it back on XP.
