Windows XP problem

Well, my sister fried her second moniter yesterday, and then my dad let her use his labtop until they figured someway instead of buying her another, And guess what, she messed up the labtop while she was at it. When you turn it off it goes to the windows XP screen where it has the logo and name and it just stays there...forever...doesnt move. I tryed putting it the operating system cd and tried to repair windows but when it asked for the admin password i entered my dads pw and it said wrong pass, then i left it blank and it did nothing. I havent tried the system restore disk but ill try that after, help please.

what exactly do you want help with? you could use austrumi to change the admin password as long as you don't have efs running. or you could boot into the laptop to make sure that the password you are typing is correct, then try the restore cd again.

after trying these things to get the system working again, don't let your sister touch another computer again!
