Windows XP problem

Once in a while, seemingly randomly, it seems like explorer is unable to focus windows properly.
The current focused window won't go away when selecting another one, say for example Mozilla is on top, and I select Winamp, either from the taskbar or alt-tab, Mozilla will stay on top, kinda the same thing that sometimes happen when there's a dialogue box you need to get rid of.
It seems to go away, also seemingly randomly, after a while, or if I close every open window.

This happens on three separate computers, and I can't recall seeing it before SP2.

Has anyone else run into this?

3 different systems?
I say that it is either a virus/worm or you have a corupted install media.
That is weird.
check the mouse properties and insure system focus is set at default.
Good luck

happens to me too when I use myie2. It might have something to do with the pop-up blocker in IE.

One of said systems was updated, the other two are fresh installs with slipstreamed SP2's, so it's not the media.
And mouse properties sounds like a long shot for two reasons, for one I don't mess with them aside from setting the PS2 rate to 200 Hz, and secondly, it happens(or rather, doesn't happen perhaps) when alt-tab'ing as well.
I don't use IE, so no MyIE or Google toolbar.

One of the systems uses Symantec Antivirus(corp version 9), one uses AVG free, and one uses Bitdefender, so it seems pretty unlikely that it's a virus, especially considering all systems are behind a firewall(proper one that is).

Wierd, and extremely annoying :(
