How do these folders work under XP Pro x64?

C:\Program Files (x86)
C:\Program Files

When installing applications should we just let it default, pick the path it want's, which from what I see is always, C:\Program Files (x86)

THANKS

Leave at the default. Are you installing any 64bit apps?

Virtual Server x64 will install to Program Files.

Well I have installed one app that is designed for x64, Drive Cleaner Pro:

http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html

But the Requirements say:

Windows Platforms supported:
95, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, XP64

It was installed:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Driver Cleaner Pro

So since it was built for x64 support along with the other systems, isn't this also a x64 bit app, or not really.

I mean when you say 64bit app, are we talking about software built ONLY for x64? I mean I didn't think there was such a thing.

Virtual Server x64? Is this a running service or what?

I killed some services, but did not notice anything, that has to do with x64 support, or is there and would create a problem?

Oh I installed Logitech SetPoint drivers which are 64bit and they installed under, C:\Program Files\Logitech, but in the task manager they show as:

SetPoint32.exe *32

But do any apps show up in the task manager as *64 ?

THANKS
