Windows XP Pro vs Windows XP Media Center

I'm not interested in beta stuff like Vista (especially since VLC player won't work well in it from what I read). But, between those two OS, which do you like most?

And, is it true that the latest MS updates slow down your machine if you have XP?

Maybe the makers of VLC player will fix their player to work on Vista 🙂 In fact, I'd bank on it.

XP Pro, because you can use Group Policy Editor to do crazy stuff.

They didn't slow down my XP Pro installation at all. If you haven't patched up your XP, you really should do so ASAP because the bad guys are still crankin' out the ANI exploit files: click here for a near-real-time list of the variants.

If you happen to use AVG Antivirus software, then it may have a hangup with the patch that fixes that vulnerability. If you need free antivirus software, consider simply using something else instead.
