I just got done building this computer and every thing went smoothly no HW problems or Software problems that I couldn?t fix. Then I installed Notion 2003 and let it up date, naturally it wanted to restart so I let it but not before I let windows do its updates as well.
When I restarted the computer it boots up and just before you?d see the windows XP splash screen it resets then you see the option of starting in safe mode or normal startup.
If I click the normal then it does the same thing resets and goes back the same screen. I have to go in safe mode then restore the computer back before I installed Norton and windows up dates then it works good. Then I tried not installing Norton and just did win updates, then the same problem with resetting, I restore it back and it good again. I didn?t have the energy to try installing Norton and no win updates so I don?t know if that well work or not.

What I want to know is there any windows xp pro updates that could cause this problem?
If you are wording It has service pack 2 it came with the install CD.

While a pain, sounds like you should go thru the windows updates and install them one at a time and see which one is causing the issue (it most likely is just one of the updates causing the problems)
