Please help!

In the event viewer I am getting the following error on this machine;
------------------------------------------------------------
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: Dhcp
Event Category: None
Event ID: 1003
Date: 11/12/2008
Time: 12:03:02 AM
User: N/A
Computer: ***
Description:
Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address *******************. The following error occurred:
The semaphore timeout period has expired. . Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the network address (DHCP) server.

Now the problem is I get a very long pause at boot, once windows "loads personal settings" I get to my background and I can move my mouse but no icons show up and nothing loads for about an extra 1 to 5(!) minutes. This is the only error I'm seeing and I think it may be the cause after running Bootlog and looking at that.

I tried disabling DHCP in my router and manually setting IP/subnet/gateway but that didn't seem to work. I've also gone though msconfig and disabled startup programs one by one to no avail. Once everything gets loaded up internet and all works fine, it just takes forever to boot.

Please help, this long boot time is getting OLD.
