Hello. Recently I changed ISPs. Now I have a DSL modem. It works semi OK, but there is one thing that keeps bugging me.

There are two connections through the modem - one via LAN which connects to ISP's internal network, and another (VPN) I have to dial each time to connect to the Internet.

My question - is there a way, maybe a registry hack or a special program that would fire up this connection automatically each time Windows boots up like it would have been real broadband access? I don't like to click it each time like it's dialup of some sort.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

No i don't think its possible....you have to log in first without vpn, then do the vpn once logged in....

Somebody else chime in, cause this would be a real nice feature if it is possible...but I haven't seen it....

if you 'dial' in like you said....(which to me isn't vpn)....maybe you could check the check box under your login 'use dial up connection' when you're logging in...that's what you would do if you were dialing in remotely....is your vpn setup like this? if so try that.

Yeah right, looks like I gonna be clicking. It would be eaiser to change ISPs than to get this thing working right.

I am wondering if that "VPN" is actually PPPOE. Who is your ISP? Is the VPN app WinPoet?

Write a batch script file and put it in your start up menu, it should run. With some programming you'll be able to do this.
