windows xp pro or xp home

I think that I may need to get a new windows disk since mine will not load onto my new computer. Not sure if I need to spend the extra money for pro or just go with home. Any suggestions? Thanks, rich

[*]Microsoft will sell you a new cd for $30 if it's a retail disc
[*]If it's OEM, certain resellers/whitebox builders can get it replaced for free
[*]Try burning the cd on another computer
[*]Borrow one from a friend and make a backup (perfectly legal)

Well, as long as your key matches the cd "type" you are ok. If you have an OEM key use an OEM copy of the disc, retail key uses a retail cd, etc.
