Based on my system specs in my sig, which Windows OS would be the best to purchase if I'm an solely a gamer? Should I buy Windows XP Pro (regular version), or get the Windows XP 64bit? (i think that's what its called)

My specs are in my sig and I'm solely a gamer.

Thanks in advance.

also asked here at least a couple of times a month. Try Advanced Seach.

Then order XP Pro. XP64 is pointless unless you're buying a workstation with more than 2 GB of RAM.

IMO, XP64 will be the new Windows ME. Once Vista is out, everybody from Microsoft to Joe Blow Developer will forget about it.

And, yes, I've tried both and, no, all 32-bit software does not run on XP64 so it isn't just "make sure you have all the drivers you need".

I wonder myself why AMD comes out with 64-bit cpu when 64-bit drivers are not ready?

Feature first, Drivers/Software second. No one will make Drivers for non-existant Hardware. That said, there are lots of 64bit Drivers available, but certain Hardware can still be tricky for Drivers.

Lots of people use AMD processors for things other than a desktop machine running windows at home.
