Windows XP Pro, Office 2003 Pro

Hi,

I need some opinion regarding Windows Licenses.

I have a client that want's to update their office computers. For that they will buy 4 new computers, and the windows/office licenses are the discussion now.

They want to purchase windows and office licenses, so they can be sure to be trouble free.

My first choice is to buy OEM versions of Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro. Those come with their own prices, and the question now is: should we wait a bit?

Since Windows Vista and Office 2006 are just around the corner, I would like to ear your opinions:

1# Should we stick with Windows XP Pro OEM and Office 2003 Pro OEM versions?

2# Should we wait the purchase until Windows Vista OEM and Office 2006 Pro OEM exists?

3# Is there any special offer from microsoft to buy XP and Office 2003 with special discount for the near release Visa and Office 2006?

The problem with halting purchase (2#) is that they need those computers very badly! Current ones have many hardware problems wight now, and they are sloooooow. So maybe microsoft have any way of purchasing XP and Office now, with some special option for the new ones.

Any opinion counts, I don't know what licenses microsoft offers now ...

go with an Open license agreement, see an MS retailer for prices. Open license allows for automatic upgrades as long is it's in force (2 years normally)

Presuming you've paid for Software Assurance.
